View Full Version : Upping HP on a W11 Turbo

So I was thinking about upping the boost on the stock W11 turbo since it isn't the most horrible of turbos and see what happens. However I do not know the best/most efficient way to go about it, but since the car is garaged this winter I figured it would be a good time to get some stuff done on it. I was looking for things to consider/upgrade? Good boost controllers to purchase from JGY?
I'm still running the SE-R MAF on a JWT tune.
Thanks for the help.
PS. Don't usually scroll down to the bottom? Well then you're missing out! Look at this neat thread someone started:

maybe 10 psi............with 370cc's it's normally not worth turning up the boost that much

Okay, idea scrapped. Thanks for the advice Jason

So I took this idea back off of the shelf because I don't want to stop working on the car just cuz it's in a storage unit for winter. Figure if I get all the parts and wear out the turbo faster, then I'll have to get a new turbo sooner right?
So I'll Need:
Injectors
Cobra MAF
Walbro Fuel Pump
Boost controller
JWT re-tune (hopefully cheaper since it's already tuned by them)
I'd like to be able to play with the boost, have a 9psi low setting and an as of yet determined high boost setting, but right now I'm thinking 16psi. Can a JWT ECU handle this? I'd assume so with the proper MAF and injectors.
I'll probably use a Cobra MAF just so I can almost 100% assure myself I wont need another one.

sure, the JWT can handle that.......I run 16psi on my blue car and hit 286 at the wheels
yeah, $100 from JWT for the ecu tune
Cobra or 300zx is fine for the MAF

Can you still use side feed injectors with a JGY Fuel rail?

our rail uses only top feed injectors, it allows a vast more opportunities for fuel injectors, the price is almost always cheaper for top feed, and it's cheaper to make a rail for that as well

I won't complain about the cheaper injectors. Just trying to figure out what to buy for the project.
Thanks for answering the questions so far, I'm sure there will be another question to come.

So when are we gonna get some 50# injectors and a Z maf and turn the boost up a little???

When the ice and snow of winter leaves Wisconsin.
Fired it up the other day and it sounds like one of the injectors is stuck. Probably the same one again so all the more incentive to get new ones.
