I am taking the time to rebuild my ka-t and have come to a point were I need to make a decision.I have a 2871r with the .68 ar turbine housing. I was thinking of switching to the .86 ar but would like to knows the difference in lag. Also at what boost level the turbo makes 440hp. I know there are a lot of variables that go into that number, just curious. Thanks

Everybody loves to ask the question "at what boost level" and the always fun "at what rpm"

the issue is that there are too many variables to answer that

bottom line is.............. on the 2 liter SR, you can tell the difference between the .64 and the .86 ........it's pretty big in difference

on the 2.4KA, the size starts mattering less because of the displacement in reference to the size

let me ask you this....................how much HP do you want? What injectors do you have? then I'll answer you

I would like to break the 400whp range or get close to it. I am running msd 72lbs injectors, Ross 8.5:1 pistons, eagle rods, bc v2 cams, stock intake and ebay manifold.I am running 21psi right now with a chipped ecu but haven't had it dyno'ed yet. I guess the what i really would like to know is, is it worth changing turbine housings. I'm not a pro drifter or a hardcore street racer. I like to auto x cross and go to the few drift practices there are.

you should spend the $100 or so to get the .86 a/r for the HP that you are looking for, the .64 is only rated at 390HP, you have enough injector to do so as well
