While I am not a first time Nissan owner, nor a first time SR owner, this is the first time I have undertaken a serious build and all that it entails. I purchased a 93 B13 SE-R from a SR20 Forum member, it had quite a bit done to it but to be honest the car wasn't exactly handled well. Here are some pictures of it as it is now.
Stillen front and rear with an unknown set of side skirts molded into the body. The one thing that I liked most was the moldings and the lines on the bumpers were smoothed out. The WRX hood scoop was a nice touch but there are some issues with it, more on that later.

I have no clue what brand rims these are but they are fairly nice, 18 inch and powder coated.

There was a Taylor plastic battery box in the trunk but I didn't like it, wasn't very secure and it didn't have the look I wanted so I swapped it for brushed aluminum.

The interior is very nice with only a couple of exceptions, the gauge pods on the A pillar look like they are held together with wood screws. I am planning on getting another pillar cover and using a vinyl repair kit to smooth them into the pillar cover. The short shifter is a JGY that I installed to replace the previous owners attempt at a short shifter, it was the stock one cut in half.

The upholstery is in really good shape considering the age, although the cloth on the drivers side door is starting to separate. The roof liner is starting to come down a bit but I am planning on recovering that and the door upholstery with suede. The remaining vinyl and upholstery will be dyed black to match the Corbeau seats that will be mounted in front.

The washer sprayers and the mirrors both are white, nice accents to me.

Ok, now for the bad. The hood scoop seems to have been molded in with Bondo, which cracked. I plan on sanding it down and doing it with fiberglass, although I may just give it up and get a CF hood.

Also seems that the car was sprayed over top of some rust, the worst of which is here on the corner of the hood.

More of the bad, he sold it because his turbo seized and he didn't want to deal with it any more. When the turbo seized he had the car towed and the front lip hit the flatbed and caused the paint to crack.

To make it slightly more complicated the intercooler rubs on the back of the lip flaking the paint there as well.

In addition to the rust spot on the top of the hood the underside isn't pretty either.

There are more pictures of the underside of the hood but you get the idea.
A couple of parting shots of the engine bay. GTIR Mani and T25, the mani and J-Pipe are high temp painted black.

Right now it is sitting on KYB AGX's with Ground Control coil overs and stock brakes. My plans are for KSport full coil overs, and Ksport 2 piece calipers front and rear. I want to upgrade the turbo and do some major cleanup in the engine bay, have the engine pulled and the bay sprayed black, and a wire tuck. The trunk I am going to coat in black liquid sound dampener, and have a new carpet put in, but no giant speaker boxes, I prefer quality over volume :D .There is more but I don't feel like typing out everything right now.

where is the car from?

Oh yea sorry didn't even think about that one. I purchased it from a guy just outside of New York City. (Insert Pace Picante joke here) The salt up there played havoc with some parts of the car, but I am working my way around it. Circular sander, and that compound that turns rust into primer, going to see how it works out.
The fun part was picking it up, myself and a friend of mine in his full size Ford Excersion, 24 foot enclosed car trailer, and a wrong turn into China Town. Sounds like the start of a bad joke but it made for an interesting trip. The current home of the project is outside of Fort Bragg NC. When I spoke to you guys on the phone placing an order for the jpipe and short shifter I was asked for photos so here we are. :D

I surely will. Right now I am on leave for just under a month so I will have to time to do some steady work to it. I will be calling you guys again soon for some more parts, seems as though the down pipe flange is clocked just wrong enough that it won't bolt up to the jpipe, and in getting the down pipe off the bolts to the cat became an issue, rust again. So the plan shortly will be to get a test pipe, down pipe and possibly a new exhaust.

Athony, I got my first set of "fronts" in Chinatown

Well it was surely interesting being there. We got hammered on tolls on the way there and we wanted to avoid them on the way back. So after setting the GPS; there we were, driving though China Town! At one point I was walking in front of the truck to make sure we didn't clobber any of the cars that were parked on the sides of the street. I was literally spread out over the hood of one car pushing on the side mirror so it didn't get ripped off by the trailer. Still ended up paying out the nose for tolls on the way back too lol.
Despite the drawbacks I get a nice project, a good story to tell and in the end an absolutely beautiful car. I will be posting up more pictures as I go on with the build.
One update, while taking down the CAT heat shield to get to the shifter linkage the bolts actually sheared off so it leaves me with a bit of a problem and question. With the bolts sheared and me planning to install a test pipe would the heat be a problem in the cab without the heat shield?

Well the hood is a bust, the rust on the underside is too much to cope with. The spot on the top of the hood was so bad I can actually see through the hood. So I am just going to scrap it and start over. I will post some pics up when I get started on that piece.

Well got another hood for a junk yard in decent shape. Has a couple of small dents but nothing major. Got it all mounted up, just needs to be cleaned up a bit and then it should be ok till I can get it resprayed.
I figured out my ignition problems as well, talked to the guys at JGY on the phone for a bit trying to figure it out. Seems as though the "door locker" that the guy I bought it from installed is actually a Viper Alarm with a starter kill, so I have to disarm it in order to start it. Next project, misfires so I need to change the plugs and wires. Hopefully I can get it so it is running smooth so I can get it registered and start driving it.

Well gents figured I would post in this again since I seem to have solved all my major issues. I just finished doing the EGR blockoff, but it didn't turn out as planned. The piece that bolts onto the intake mani just above the throttle body had one of the bolts sheer off even with the mani. Lucky for me I added some silicone to the plate and gasket when I put it on and it is holding for now. Once I get the opportunity I am going to extract the bolt, and replace it, should happen tomorrow but it all depends on what time I get out of work. I removed the vacuum gallery and redid all the lines with thick wall red silicone. I did run into a couple of questionable routings but I will figure it all out in time. I also had the time today to install my Corbeau seats, so the interior is coming along nicely as well. Right now everything is running good, and I am prepped for the next couple projects, adjustable FPR and oil catch can.

Well got some new pictures since she is mobile now.
You can see that the replacement hood is pushed in a bit and there are some scratches on it, but like I said it will do till I either go for a total respray or get a CF hood.

Got the seats installed, later will come a cage with harness bar and a set of Schroth harnesses.

Little cleaner in the bay with the EGR removed and the vacuum lines redone.

Next steps, replace the head gasket as I think it is slowly on its way out. Turbo is going to be swapped out to a disco potato, with some new piping. Some more JGY Bling is inroute as well so expect more advertising from the Fayetteville area lol. Going to finish out the exhaust with 3' pipe all the way back so it should sound pretty nice. I will post up more as projects get done.

I think the new stickers are coming with the order.
Also, have you seen our new emblems? The are really nice.
Also, don't forget to represent your Garland McGhee fund sticker!
I'll make some of those tonight if I can remember.
I bet if you rose the back of your car with some coilovers or what ever, your car would be faster. Try is and see if you agree.

Man I knew I forgot something lol. Oh well I will get one next time I order. I will be looking for a new suspension soon, so the ride height will change once I go that route. As it is right now I am afraid to mess with the coil overs on here too much, as once again they were setup rather ghetto by the previous owner. I am just going to hold what I got on that front till I am ready to deploy and then it will be on my list of things to have done at your shop.
