I got a 84 300zx. I was wondering if a RB or SR swap was possible and which one would be the best.

RB would fit......actually, from what I understand, there was a version of that body style that had an RB25 in it factory

the SR would probably be the cheaper alternative and easier to deal with down the road though..........and lighter

Well I was hoping to get it close to 300hp and still have it as a reliable daily driver. If you don't mind me asking. How much would a nicely built SR20DET run me? I want something to get me to work and back but something powerful enough to crush the local civics every now and then. For some reason, down in South Carolina, I can't find someone who knows how to do a SR install and it be reliable. A lot of the 240s around here are either trash(sorry to be crude) or had the installs done hundreds of miles away. Personally, I have never heard a bad remark about JGY so the trip to my home state would not be an issue.

plus.. im loving the digital dash in this 300... i have never had a car that had that..

Zac i know how you feel. i hate civics with a passion. but yea i did a ton of research on this not too long ago and yea Jason is right. it was in like the '85 or '86 japan version, the 200zr, that the RB20DET. here's my post i post i had and link to another forum where a guy in MI did a RB25 swap all by himself

Zac can you PLEASE make that avatar smaller? Just stick it in photoshop or even just a basic paint program, size it down, and load up the smaller one. Thanks
