Call?? Every time I call the secretary hangs up on me because he never has any answers for my questions. You being closed on May 10 isn't an excuse for my car NOT being complete after 10 months. I will be there May 28, 2009 to pick up my car.
Jason@JGY
05-10-2009, 05:10 PM
All jokes aside.
I highly doubt that anyone is hanging up on you. With 3 employees and family helping, it may be easy to find out who that person is that is hanging up on you. You should know my voice........so is it me? Garland has a greater southern accent than I do.......so is it him? Dustin does not have a southern accent at all.....is it him? Heather sounds like a girl..........her? Bennie, she sounds like an older girl.........her?
The reason why you might pick up on my annoyance is that sometimes people will run their mouth and say "they don't answer the phone" or "they hang up on me". Like you call out "homo" on stuff, I call the "BS" on that stuff.
Excluding accidents, any employee hanging up on someone is an instant write up for them. They are only allowed to end the phone call if the person is irrationally cursing or threatening :-)
We have 4 phone lines here and 3 are always active. No phones have caller ID except the shop cordless and we are open 50 hours a week. Also, if we are here before or after hours, including weekends, the phone normally gets answered as many of you know (also, this sometimes slows progress of stuff). We have an answering machine.......many shops don't. With all that said, when people say they can't get ahold of us, they must be dialing the wrong number.
You are right, being closed on Mother's Day which is Sunday is no excuse for your car not being done after 10 months. It actually is unrelated to anything.
I have been doing this business since 2000. I've seen alot and been there and done that.
We perform service and sell items to a niche market that can't be beet by our competitors. There is a reason that we are still doing great in this recession and alot of our somewhat-competitors are not, or, as some of you know, are closed, and the answer to that is not "really speedy service" Our inventory of IN-STOCK items hovers at about $250,000 that can ship the same day. Our custom made items that we make are traditionally in stock. It always catches me off gaurd with some kid will say that they had to wait a week for a fuel rail for example. As I write this, I am looking at 10 RB rails and 10 RWD SR rails awaiting my personal acceptance and will be put into inventory. Yes, I think someone is waiting for one of them, but now we will have 9 more ready to ship the same day. Our quality takes time, other places may not take time, ours does. As I right this, I know that some kid will be thinking, "so you need to remake rails when you get to 5 in stock so you don't run out" It's SOOOOO easy to give advice when you are not in the game. Hey, you want to run this and run it better, $4,500,000 and it's yours, take out a loan and buy me out. That includes all inventory, all paperwork, all secrets, access to it all, and all the cars. Heck, I'll even build all the motors for you and show you how I do it for just $50k a year. I live down the road. I'll also bet you $1,000,000 to your $500,000 that your volume will drop in 2 years with you running it. That goes to anyone out there thinking you can do it better. Buy it and do it better and only have to pay $3,500,000 in the end.
.....For example, remaking rails when you hit 5 in stock is easy to say. So, what if you sold 6 in one day after you hit 5 in stock? woops, your idea was wrong, but you have already run your mouth on the internet giving advice. I don't give advice to Michael Jordan when he misses a shot. I don't give driving advice to Jeff Gordan. I didn't open JGY up yesterday. The Nissan market is full of kids and adults that love to tell you how to do it better. Heck, half of them claim to be opening shops. It's really easy to work your day job and tell someone else how to do something. The world is full of good employees but is not filled with good employers. Being able to suggest to someone what they need to do on 1 of 1300 daily tasks needed to be done to be open next year does not make you good at anything.
Your car will be done when it is finished. We have our best intention to get everything done as soon as we can, keep producing our products that we do, give our tech support as we do, and keep inventing new products. It's a juggling lesson to get everything done. At the end of the day, and the year, all things get done correctly and at great prices, but rarely in the time frame everyone wants it. May 28th seems like a good time frame. I think your tranny pieces will be back. But........ if for example, your computer does not work and we need to fix it on May 25th, then, no, it won't be ready.
Instead of worrying, why don't you be thankful that your crankshaft and block were all the same temp when we mic'd for your bearings. At all times if you had no axles in your car, we put in dummy axles when rolling it around. All the little things that are unseen and not ever known, but what you can expect from a place that not only caters to their market, but loves the cars they work on. That is the value of the service you get from here. That is where customers seek us out and find us. Alot of places can put a motor in a Sentra, but isn't it cool to have it done by a place that had a turbo'd Sentra back in 1996 and owns several at all times? How about having a place doing a turbo upgrade on your 240sx that does turbo work or, having a place do the job that invented the GT2871R specifically for a Sentra and a 240sx because of it's size and power capabilities.......... and 3 of the guys there drive 240sx's.
In your case, your project has gotten alot of extra service that you may not be aware of. The simple fact that we had to re-order items for you and try and figure out the invoicing for you is an understatement due to your unfortunate item theft that occured to your car in Florida. When you tax onto that that we also gave you a decent labor discount due to your repeat business, the labor that you are complaining about it's time frame sort of changes things doesn't it?
JGY doesn't claim to or work on daily driver stock cars. We build toys that are often driven on the street at exceptional value to service ratio. Our advertising budget is a joke compared to other businesses like ours. Our advertising is done by our work and it's owners taking pride in it.
We won't even allow people to pay extra to move something along faster unless it is shipping because that hurts other customers projects. We try to help everyone out at about the same level whether it is time frame or service. While not always choosing the perfect ratio, we still do a really good job of it.
Mickey, I was mostly talking about other projects and not TO YOUR specifically so don't get too excited. Yes, when you get here, I'll let you hug Dustin and giggle.
NO HOMO!
Dustin

Jason you typed a WHOLE lot of things that got off the subject.
1. Yes, I know your voice. I asked to talk to you, I'm given the run around..
2. I was hung up on 4 times once by either Garland or Dustin they know who done it, if they was man enough, they'd tell you they done it.
3. communicate. When I email you, email me back. When I call for information, tell me what's going on. If I'm missing something, then you should have let me know. When I call it's to make sure everything is going the way it should. It's apparent you're in the dark just as much as I am when it comes to what's going on at JGY.... oh yeah... BOOOOO!!!!!
Dustin

this is getting heated...
along with your "Boooooo's" im also hearing a lot of boo hoo.
yeah ten months is a long time and i feel your pain dude i went a year without my license so i had a car but couldnt drive it which is worse than your situation.
let jgy do what they do best and build your motor the RIGHT way therefore you can have one of the baddest fxing sentras ever.
if you were able to visit the shop as much as i am you would be a whole lot more understanding. every single lift at jgy is always being used and most the time there are other customers cars parked UNDER the ones that are raised up.
and you are also forgetting about the customers that pay in full. there are so many variables at play here and one of the most important things to remember is NEVER rush a mechanic
no more jgy blasting from you.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris, You sound like you're trying to make this thing, that you know NOTHING about more than what it is. Hmmm... interesting So that you know, I'm not "blasting" JGY, I'm a concerned customer. So you might want to take a step back...
