I am OCD about my car being possibly stolen...

I have some plans to prevent that. I am not into 'recovering' my vehicle although there are many items and systems to assist with that. I refuse to have it stolen in the first place.

I am going to switch from key start to push button for convenience, cool-factor, and security:
- it will be wired so that there is a hidden 'momentary' switch that when held, turns on the ignition and while it is held, a second obvious 'Start' button in the console is pressed to engage the starter.
- with that in place, there won't need to be any of these wires run to the steering column. At least I don't see why they should
- if I can just find a way to get rid of the steering lock w/out just braking it Brooklyn style...once I figure that out, I'll do the wiring.

I'm gonna do another trick two-way alarm install also for convenience, cool-factor, and security:
- it will include all of the standard features that are considered to be security must-haves these days...warning light, proximity sensor, tilt sendsor, sirens, door/trunk pop, etc...
- I am going to install high power strobes in the head/tail lights for arm/disarm confirmation and of course to continue to flash when alarm is tripped...
- I plan on including a second set of piezo's in the interior with some well placed super bright LED's and lower power strobes...I want my car to light up like a phuqing disco when some phuqr breaks in...
- I'm considering a small battery to power only these features when the alar is tripped...
- the second, smaller battery will by kept charged by solar power with strips in either the sunroof glass, or the uppermost part of the windscreen (??)
- I'm going to locate the alarm brain in the most remote corner of the cabin I can find...possibly cutting a 'nook' out for it somewhere...
- it would be nice to get the fuel pump to come on as the alarm disarms...

If all else fails...there's Trunk Monkey (http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=5342702)

I will definitely keep the forum updated with the progress...

Instead of a "This vehicle protected by....." sticker, perhaps I can put "Touch it, and I'll vote for McCain/Palin"

Then I won't need any of this crap :(
