2.4L SR on dyno

Our bad boy 2.4 stroked SR is on the dyno. We are still letting this beast get used to it's new home in an S13, so we are taking it easy.

I ran it at 10 psi from 3k to 6k. It put down 281HP at 6k with a 3076.

That is some awesome power! If we had run it to 7k, it would be well over 300HP. 10psi is just getting started for that turbo too. At 20psi, we are talking 500 to 600HP.

For those that don't know, it's Jon's car, the 2.4L killer. We affectionately call it the fake KA.

We got the Greddy MSS to control the fans.
We have the boost controller on it, and not set up yet.

After Chris Heekin left, Garland found that 2 hoses needed clamps to keep from leaking......brake booster and another one.........so I ran it

93octane, 3k to 7.2k rpms...........409HP at 18psi.

What's next: 1. adjust out of adjustment cam gears per JWT suggestions due to running S5 cams

2. throw 114octane in it

3. Rev to 8000rpms

4. go to 23psi

5 go over 500HP (hey, if I owned it, I'd go over 650HP, but I don't)

well.........in my opinion......our choice of the S5 cams were not the best, BC says that with the stroker kit that we should down size on the cams

the other thing is.........with 72lb injectors, we are limited to about 550HP

ruff math, 550HP with a 15% power loss = 467.5 at the wheels

Jon said that was good enough for him.............and when we don't own the car.....we only go as far as the customer wants.....

now Mario's........he wants 500HP so we will hit that

not sure about 500, but 450ish sounds good. but the 2.4 has more potential. im sure at 24 with a good tune, different cams and intake or throttle body he would have close to 5......after paying for the kit i would use it...dustin's gay

I think the S5 cams are not ideal for this setup.

tell him to swap em out. if they were killing me that bad i would sell them and get the set that would fit my setup. stroker kits make 500 easy. i wonder if this would create a problem over time.

What was the specs of the motor?

Do you have any dyno graphs, more interested in the torque curve and powerband as a whole then how much HP it made...

Torque is what I crave and need!

.......Charles, this is from EARLY 2009. This car doesn't even exist anymore.

I searched the thread and found this "440HP at 22psi that's it".

Apparently, he didn't want us to go higher than that.

He now owns a 350z that we are building into a 4.3L twin turbo monster.

but.......from what I can recall, crank came from JWT, but was made by Daddy Crower, we used eagle rods............
