I just wanted everyone to know that Jason's stock SR outdid my built KA. He put down 286HP at about 17psi on a GT2871R .64. With a conservative 15% power loss to the wheels, that's about 336 at the crank.

Here is the graph.

I love SR's!.

That motor is a bone stock Avinier from us. I did put rocker arm stoppers in it, but those have no effect on the HP.

I would like to thank JGY for all the support to help me get to where I am today, which is above the KA in HP.

Jason is being funny. he posted under my name. My KA24DET run was only 14 psi and i put down 267 HP to the wheels. Actually the dyno only recorded a max boost of 13.7 psi. I will post my next run. It will be higher then jasons SR with less boost.

last time I checked 286 is higher than 267

run what you brung :-)

I'm running a GT2871r with the .64. This is a 39pounds per minute turbo which means about 390HP rated. I'm running a 1998cc displacement motor.

My ending psi was about 16.99. So with about 3psi more boost on a much smaller motor, I made more power than you.

Scott,
It's OK cause your truck motor is still torquey. But let all hail the almighty SR!!!!!! If I had a truck I would want a KA in it. But since I own a 240sx which is now a 200sx I will stick with the SR20!!! Scott just say that you love the almighty SR and the nightmare might go away. :D

what I find troublesome is that my rump is pictured in Scott's avatar, why?

286... i've had the chance to ride in it and it feels way faster than that

The legs and arms in that photo should look familiar, too ;)

you were racing me at low boost, I was on stage one on my Greddy Boost controller, so that was 13 psi instead of 17, so next time I'll be ready :-)

so.........yes, with 260 some you did beat my 240 some

Hey your motor makes more torque than HP!!!! But some of us want HP with a lower torque so we aren't breaking things that should not be broken.

high torque at low rpm is more fun to drive. i dont have to drop a gear to out pull jason in his sr. :)

Actually to most people high torque is NOT more fun to drive and is why cars such as Honda Civics and Integras grossly outsell 240sx's. Power down low that quickly trails off make the driver feel like they don't have as much power as a motor that is the opposite. People enjoy cars that have power that grows exponentially as they rev the motor. It makes you feel like the car is faster. That is why a laggy turbo Supra will feel faster than Jon's 2.4 stroked SR with about 500HP. But the fact is that a compromise between the 2 is normally the best. This is one of the reasons that the SR is such a great motor.

Also, it makes little sense that you would have to drop a gear to out pull me as you put it. If your car is quicker like you claim, that has little logic.

Game Over, put in another 2 quarters and try again
