seriously though

if your aftermarket tach isn't working............such as the Autometer, here is a great solution for you.

I will give props to Mr. Pila at JWT for help on this.

This works on many Nissan applications.

The tach wire signal that you are using probably does not have enough of a signal. You may have it connected correctly, but you need to give more strength to the signal.

Buy an 1k ohm 1/8watt resistor. These are dirt cheap and easy to get at Radio Shack. Find a 12volt source and run a wire to the signal wire that you already have. On the wire from the 12 volt source, cut it and add this resistor so that the 12volt is reduced and this is added to the signal wire.

So........run your tach signal wire as you should and tap into that wire, not cutting it, but tap into it and add a resisted 12volt source to it........

tach should work fine
