Post pics of completed engine work, cars and some JGY "custom" work! Videos of JGY built engines pushing to the max would be great too! There are years and years of work done by JGY that needs to be recognized and Facebook has seemed to take over the world."

Alex, I have heard that train of thought before.
My response seems to be "that's why we have our own websites and web ring of domains, including but not limited to our own forum."
Some of the advantages of doing this are:
1. total control over the site and it's content
2. ease of change
3. perceived image by customers
From my understanding of Facebook, it's (heck watch the movie) predominantly a social network designed for people to passively interact and do things that they would feel uncomfortable doing together or asking in person. In the past few years businesses have been joining it in a way to help brand loyalty and keep some of their customers in touch with them.
There are many downsides of doing such. Heather tells me about one page she frequents with is Anne Taylor Loft, and where people will put negative stuff on there. I don't know.
Let's take a company in specific for example, Tide laundry detergent.
They may have a facebook page.........but if they DIDN'T have a website of their own, would you trust them as much?
Our websites have thousands of images and words describing what you are suggesting........heck, you are on one of them. If you think you want to find JGY and do a search, you find us.
Somewhere around 2005, I was at Nopi Nats in Atlanta. 2 guys came up to me and sales pitched me on the idea of letting them manage a Myspace page for us and how it would help business. I was very kind while I had my platinum fronts in my mouth and my Corona 22 snaked in my blue bandanna and explained to them that JGY owns several websites already. I handed them a couple business cards while standing in front of some of our cars that we were showing. I explained to them that we probably spent a couple thousand dollars just for the show, not counting the trailers, etc bought before the show. I don't think the got what I was saying.
I'll give you a link to some things we have done........and it's not a facebook link:

I'll go ahead and apologize in advance for you not being able to check my social status or Andrew's sexual preference on that page.
The Facebook page that you MIGHT be talking about was setup NOT by JGY but by some people associated with JGY that predominantly wanted it for social networking, not for business profit. Heather started working with them on it and informed me that once they found out that it couldn't be managed during work hours that they stopped working on it but are on their own pages all the time, including during work hours.

I sent Alex an email asking him if he wanted to manage it in exchange for something.
He hasn't answered or responded.
I hope it not in the typical fashion of the "hey, this would be good for you to do", but not actually help at all.
