So right now I am torn on what I want to do with the transmission in my car after the build is completed.
I am thinking more along the lines of a OS Giken straight cut gear stack. But the price is the killer with that one. After getting all the shafts in billet with the selectors I have about as much in the Trans internals as I paid for my whole car...lol
My other option is a Z32 gearbox. I would have to do an adaptor kit to make it fit and make a little extra room for it. This option will be cheaper but I'm not going to let price be the deciding factor with this.
So I'm up for any options and suggestions and I'm looking to make 600-700 horsepower at the wheels and with my rate of Trans breakage this is a big deal for me

Just go straight all the way back from flywheel to diff lol its one of your best ideals ever.

I'm really thinking of doing a gearstack but they are just expensive. I like the idea of being able to use an SR clutch and Flywheel, driveshaft, and such.

T56 all the way. Will hold 700ft lbs of torque and take what you can thtow at it all day. My opinion is it can't be beat for what were doing. Plus its not jdm so parts are cheaper and easy to find. Get one out of a camaro or trans am and have a clutch set up done. You'll spend as much as you would on the gear stack as you would this whole set up. Problem with a gear stack is sure you have bullet proof gears but now your weak point is the case. My friend terry here explaid the same thing to me and made perfect sense why a gearset is only as reliable as the case its in. He's blown apart gears in more than a few rx transmissions and rear ends so he's takin all the guess work out of it for me. He's done all the research now we just need an adapter plate or bellhousing to work!!

I really dont want to go a 100% custom route like that...Those are strong transmissions though.

I've thought about that...OS Giken is supposed to be making an adaptor bellhousing just for that

Well, I know of only a few places that sell the adaptor bellhousing and one of the vendors on Zilvia is one of them.
I was thinking about going that route myself. Just not sure how stout those 350z trans are. I plan on dragging my car more then anything.

I hear they hold good power but IDK I guess I've never personally seen it

If you go with the 350z trans, maybe JGY would create a kit for it...
:whistles pondering the possibilities

It's hard to tell what may be in the works with this build
