Anyone know how difficult it actually is to do a v-mount intercooler for an SR20? I have read up on it a little, and the benefits seem minor, but the look is definately a kind of show off thing. I have been tossing the idea around in my head, and I am going to need new piping for my intercooler anyway, so should I try the v-mount for cool points?
I also read the engine has to be moved back and down from the stock mounting point, and the battery has to be relocated.... if I'm completely out of my mind on this idea let me know.

well it depends on you really. if the performance upgrade is minor then is all that work worth it. as jason would say ask your girlfriend( he is whipped)

Jon,
I won't have more than about 1.5 inches to move your motor back and I don't like the idea...........with that said, you can do a v mount without doing so. There are 2 reasons that I know for a V mount for function.
1. move the intercooler out of the way for a minor crash when you are drifting
2. it allows air to touch the radiator that does not get preheated by the intercooler
I think that 2. is not worthy because the angle allows less air to go to the radiator and the traditional setup and some good electric fans is all you need.
I'd upgrade your intercooler that I saw yesterday and let me put some good piping in there
p.s. Until about Monday, I won't be able to be on the phone much at work. Call me next week.

From everything I read since this post, and what you say, Jason, I would have to agree that the v-mount isn't worth the time and money.... It looks cool but that's about all it has to offer
