Some of you will like this one.
So..........(we will keep his name out of this until he surfaces.....and then his name can come out) a customer brought his car here on a trailer for us to:
1. install a transmission supplied by him
2. weld the tranny where it was broken
3. put on a header from us
4. fix the oil pan
5. fix the exhaust
6. delete the EGR
Customer claimed that it was a rally car..........from working underneath it......and the dirt.......it was
When the customer came to pick it up yesterday, he wanted someone to ride with him so that he could point out anything that he noticed before he left...............sounds logical right?
Also, the customer would not allow us to dyno tune the car or run it on the dyno..............so other than running it in the air on the lift to make sure all the leaks and the tranny worked.......that is all that we could do.
After it was all done...........he apparently calls us and explains that while his son was driving it, it turned off. Some of the employees claimed that he was demanding that we come fix it. While trying to trouble shoot it over the phone, during multiple phone calls and having to hear from 2 employees how rude he was and the challanges that were presented....it went from normal to worse.
We are not a wrecker service.......we are not a road side assistance service. After it went from good to ugly, we offered to go there at $50 an hour to see.
Let's not forget that the customer would not let us dyno tune the car, the car had no tags during it's entire stay with us, and the customer drove the car for about 10 minutes with an employee in the car before he left.
He claimed that it would not crank over and that it died on his son while driving. During the work, we noticed the distributor plug was broken and the battery terminal was aftermarket with extra wires going to it........alot of you guys have this with your stereos and stuff.......
Suggesting that he check those went no-where.
The guy finally on the phone informs us that the power terminal on the battery was not making a good connection and that the car works perfect.........that he would also go to all the internet forums and say how horrible we were, that we do poor work, and that he hopes it hurts us.....
What in the hell? It's like a weird NAZI-like lifestyle some of you forum guys are. This guy was not 20 either. He was older than I am. I'm trying to realize how comical it would be if my dad was on the phone with a place threatening to go to a forum to bash a place........I think I would laugh.
How can a poorly connecting battery terminal be anyway related to the performance work that you receive here? How mis-guided can you be? Last night on our car trailer, 2 of the lights don't work.....after working with them, I find that the ground is not good from Featherlite......the trailer manufacturer...................do I call them and demand they fix it? Do I call them and challenge them with running my mouth on forums? NO I DON'T
Come on!
FWIW category, that terminal was actually tightened here and I even checked it because I was showing Mike something about it.......
But even with that said......battery terminals are finicky anyway.....that's why they sell repair kits and cleaners for them........
We love how the blaim game works on things that are totally unrelated to us.
