We found this out years ago.........and just manage it.

But, thanks to Del Higgins, it has been brought to our attention that some of you guys may not know this and may need to know.

First off, BigMike@JGY is a bisexual.

The passenger seal on the SR manual transmission from 1991 to 1998 should only be pushed into the transmission until it is flush. Most would think that it should be pushed until it stops........how most seals are. If you push it farther than flush with the face of the transmission, when the axle goes into the tranny, the seal won't make contact with the larger part of the axle that seals the fluid on the inside of the tranny.

Again.......put the seal in just until it is flush with the face of the tranny. We suggest using a block of wood or a flat piece of metal as a guide, meaning that the block is larger than the seal, so after you get the seal started into the tranny, just tap the block until it makes contact with the tranny, thus pushing the seal in JUST far enough.
